NUTRITION 2023 is back in Boston! The premier event for the latest nutrition research will bring the nutrition community together again on July 22 – 25, 2023 in Boston, MA.

 

The Fourth NACAN Summit Frontiers in Nutrition - The Joint Nutrition Scientific Symposium with meeting theme — "Nutrition for a healthy life: from the production of foods to healthy eating for everyone" — was held virtually via Zoom between Jul. 22-24, 2022. Thanks to all our collaborators, sponsors, speakers and attendees, together we made a great success this year and we look forward to future networking! If you registered for the continuing education unit (CEU) credits, please note that we are still working on issuing certificate and we expect to finish it by 07/31/2022.

The joint symposium will serve the missions of the NACAN and co-sponsors - Chinese American Food Society (CAFS), China Food Publishing Co, (CFPC), Guangdong Nutrition Society (GNS), Hebei Nutrition Society (HNS), College of Food Science and Engineering at Nanjing University Of Finance & Economics (NUFE) -  to provide a platform for networking, collaboration, and scientific exchange among nutritionists, dietitians, food scientists, and other scientists and professionals across disciplines of health and/or life sciences from NACAN and Chinese partners. We welcome participants working as researchers, graduate students, professionals, policymakers and other related career to join us. 

 

There will be four 3-hour sessions during the symposium. Each session contains four 30-min oral presentations for established speakers and four 15-min oral presentations for junior faculty (Assistant Professor or equivalent), and trainees (i.e., postdocs/graduate students). Each session will be chaired by two persons nominated by the Symposium Organizing Committee. Details on program agenda, session topics and symposium Zoom link will be released here.

Featured with Frontiers in Nutritionwe proposed a research topic aims to showcase the research contributed to the summit, however presentation at the symposium is not required for submission. We welcome Original Research and Review articles from both the presenters and outside researchers to address the 4 themes:
• Emerging fields of research: New and innovative areas, especially revolutionary and/or multi-disciplinary approaches that address fundamental questions in nutrition, food, and health sciences.
• Scientific base of nutrition: Mechanistic studies that decipher the underlying links between nutrients, diet, and chronic diseases.
• Agriculture and food production: Functional foods, bioactive compounds, nutraceuticals and novel food processing technologies that improve human health.
• Nutrition and public health: Clinical and population-based studies that examine the role of diet, food, and nutrition in health and disease.

The North America Chinese Association for Nutrition (NACAN) is a public non-profit charitable organization under the US Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)3, effective Jan 15, 2021. In addition, the NACAN is a Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) accredited CPE provider to offer CEUs for Registered Dietitians (USA only).  

With its public charitable status, NACAN continues to advance science and education by promoting scientific exchange and networking among professionals with Chinese heritage in nutrition, health, and related fields of interest; facilitating advanced education and training of professionals; supporting the dissemination and application of nutrition knowledge to improve public health and clinical practice in the community; and advocating for nutrition-related research and evidence-based practice to promote health and wellness.
